This is a specially protected natural area covering approximately 89 hectares, located on the left bank of the Ishim River. It includes park and research zones, themed greenhouses featuring tropical plants and succulents, as well as well-developed facilities for both active and leisurely recreation.

This majestic monument, standing 21.5 meters tall, was built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. It is located in the Esil District on Mangilik El Avenue, along the route from the international airport to the city center. The structure is made of granite and white marble and is adorned with intricate Kazakh ornamentation.

Architectural features:

• Height — 21.5 meters symbolizes the 20th anniversary of independence (where 0.5 meters signifies the transition to a new era).
• Sculptures—bronze figures are placed in the niches of the facades, reflecting the spirit and history of the nation: the aksakal (wisdom), the mother (guardian of the hearth), the batyr (heroic past), and the modern warrior (defender).
• Tai-kazans—the side arches are adorned with replicas of the sacred tai-kazan, symbolizing unity and hospitality.

This is a unique bike and pedestrian bridge across the Esil River, donated to the capital by the Atyrau Region in 2018. Its architecture, reminiscent of a giant sturgeon, and its stunning evening lighting make it one of the city’s most popular and frequently photographed landmarks.

This is the largest mosque in Central Asia, built in 2022. Its total area exceeds 68,000 square meters.

Architectural Features and Records:

• Capacity: The complex can accommodate up to 235,000 worshippers at once (35,000 in the halls and 200,000 in the courtyard).
• Main dome: It stands 83.2 meters tall and has a diameter of 62 meters, making it a unique engineering structure in terms of size.
• Minarets: Four majestic towers soar to a record height of 130 meters.
• Entrance Doors: The main door is handcrafted from iroko tropical hardwood; it is 12.4 meters tall and weighs approximately 1.5 metric tons.

This is the only aquarium in Kazakhstan and the aquarium located farthest from the sea in the world. More than 2,000 marine animals live in tanks with a total capacity of 3 million liters. The facility also features a 70-meter-long glass tunnel with a moving walkway.

It is not only the newest but also the largest museum of its kind in Central Asia. The museum building covers a total area of 9.9 hectares. The museum houses a priceless collection of artifacts that form the core of its exhibits. These include archaeological finds from ancient burial mounds, such as gold artifacts, discoveries from the Botai settlement, and the remains of ancient cities scattered throughout Kazakhstan. The most iconic exhibit is the “Golden Man of Issyk,” discovered during excavations in 1969–70 at the Issyk burial mound. Known worldwide as the “Saka Warrior in Golden Armor,” this figure has become a symbol of Kazakhstan.

This is Astana’s main architectural landmark, embodying the Tree of Life and the idea behind the capital’s relocation in 1997. It stands 97 meters tall, and the glass sphere crowning it—with a diameter of 22 meters—symbolizes the golden egg of the sacred bird Samruk. Inside the sphere is a panoramic observation deck.

The heights of the observation deck—93 and 97 meters—were not chosen at random: the number 97 symbolizes the year 1997, when Astana officially became the capital of Kazakhstan.
