It is not only the newest but also the largest museum of its kind in Central Asia. The museum building covers a total area of 9.9 hectares. The museum houses a priceless collection of artifacts that form the core of its exhibits. These include archaeological finds from ancient burial mounds, such as gold artifacts, discoveries from the Botai settlement, and the remains of ancient cities scattered throughout Kazakhstan. The most iconic exhibit is the “Golden Man of Issyk,” discovered during excavations in 1969–70 at the Issyk burial mound. Known worldwide as the “Saka Warrior in Golden Armor,” this figure has become a symbol of Kazakhstan.
