The "Mäñgilik El" Arch of Triumph

This majestic monument, standing 21.5 meters tall, was built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. It is located in the Esil District on Mangilik El Avenue, along the route from the international airport to the city center. The structure is made of granite and white marble and is adorned with intricate Kazakh ornamentation.

Architectural features:

  • Height — 21.5 meters symbolizes the 20th anniversary of independence (where 0.5 meters signifies the transition to a new era).
  • Sculptures—bronze figures are placed in the niches of the facades, reflecting the spirit and history of the nation: the aksakal (wisdom), the mother (guardian of the hearth), the batyr (heroic past), and the modern warrior (defender).
  • Tai-kazans—the side arches are adorned with replicas of the sacred tai-kazan, symbolizing unity and hospitality.
